Course Memo

“Existing Light Photography” is an advanced photography course designed for photographers who want to learn to take photographs in dim to extremely low lighting without the introduction of any artificial light source. Participants will receive instruction in several different areas that include sunset photography, cityscape photography, theatrical production photography, lunar photography, lightning photography, and fireworks photography. Participants will receive instruction on camera settings, camera techniques, as well as compositional considerations that will assist participants in recording existing light images. Students are strongly encouraged to have their photographic equipment with them for the practical exercises. Homework will be assigned each week, with the photographs being critiqued in class to help participants improve their photographic skills.
