Photography: Portrait and Wedding (SPPW)

“Portrait and Wedding Photography” is an advanced photography course designed for individuals who already have a basic understanding of photography and want to push beyond the boundaries of common photography. This course offers two days of instruction on portraiture, and two days of instruction on wedding photography. This is followed by two days of in-class practical exercises using professional studio lighting. Topics to be discussed include: how to get started, posing people, anatomy of a wedding, required equipment, wedding contracts and forms, special considerations, and portfolio design and brochures. Students are strongly encouraged to have their photographic equipment with them for the practical exercises. Homework will be assigned each week, with the photographs being critiqued in class to help participants improve their photographic skills.
